October 31st-November 4th

General Announcements:

Halloween, Holiday, October ...

  • Please check the Homework Agenda and each teacher's page for due dates and test dates!
  • The BGIS BOOK FAIR- October 31-November 4. All classes visited the book fair today. Students can continue to visit the book fair through Friday of this week! There are lots of great books for every student. Your book fair purchases are a great support to your child's reading habit while helping support our school library. Also, if you are available to volunteer with our book fair, please contact our media specialist, Mrs Stewart at 439-1642 or email her at rstewart@hoover.k12.al.us
  • Your children have received information about a new fundraiser for Brock’s Gap.  It is so easy!  You just have to download the free app “Planet Fundraiser” to your phone.  There are several merchants who are participating.  You simply snap a picture of the receipt into the app, and Planet Fundraiser gives a portion of the proceeds back to the school. These are merchants (like Chick-Fil-A) that you probably use every week!   We encourage you to utilize this easy resource to raise money for Brock’s Gap!
  • This year, Brock’s Gap is hosting our Veteran's Day program on Thursday, November 10th at 8:45 in the competition gym. All family members and friends of Brock’s Gap students, who have served or are currently serving our country, are invited.  If you will be able to attend, please fill out the Google Form-Veterans Day Google Form Link click here.
  •  If you currently have a parent serving out of state or overseas, you are welcome to invite someone to stand in their place. Please have your student return the completed form to his/her homeroom teacher. Also, as part of our Veterans Day Program, we are planning to have a slide show including pictures of family members and friends of Brock’s Gap students who are serving or have served in the U.S. military.  Whether or not you would be able to attend the program, we would love to include your picture of military family and friends.  Please send your digital pictures to Christie Willis by Friday, November 4, 2016.  You can email your pictures to chwillis@hoover.k12.al.us.  If you have older pictures that are not in a digital format, you may bring those to Christie Willis, the Technology Teacher-Room 113, in a zip-locked bag with the necessary information:  the student’s name, their homeroom teacher, grade, and the relative’s name in the picture and what branch of military they have served/are serving.  Pictures will be scanned and returned back to the appropriate student in a timely manner.
  • POP TABS FOR RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE BGIS is collecting pop-tabs to help support The Ronald McDonald House. This charity service offers a place of comfort and support for families out of town while their children receive medical treatment at hospitals around the United States. By donating the small pop tabs on the top of your soda or your favorite canned drink, we can show our support in a small way.
  • DRESS CODE REMINDER- Please remember students may not wear leggings with t-shirts.  In addition, please note that shorts must be beyond the tip of your middle finger when arms are outstretched.  Thank you for your help with this! Any student out of dress code will have to call home for a change of clothes.  Thank you!
